Is there a technique in how the 4 squares are joined to the black center?? I can't figure this block out.

Hi -
Just love this quilt! I'm going to pull out all my "brights" and try a baby-sized one myself! I like the quilting pattern and variegated thread too! LOL, it reminds me of what the display case of a busy ice cream shop looks like after a long, hot day! Perfectly delish!! Would you please consider making another block and posting pictures of how you sew them back together with the black square? It looks like you may have used the partial seam technique, like this example I found online: http://quilting.about.com/od/piecing...tial_seams.htm Thanks for sharing! LindaG |
Very nice, so colorful.

Hi , I finally figured it out. The 4 log cabin blocks that surround the black square are rectangular in shape (leave 1 strip off one side to get this shape). The black center is a square the size of the width of the strip . Then you join them using the technique LindaG has listed in the previous reply. Math is a wonderful thing if you can apply the numbers to the formulas. Cutting out paper squares and strips and then cutting them out repeatedly also helps!!   Anne
