Faboo quilt! I did a much smaller size with a wool army blanket and it weighs a ton. I can just imagine how much this one weighs coming it at 100" square. Mine was only 54 x 72. Unfortunately the scratchiness of the wool blanket comes through the cotton backing fabric, at this was nice LQS quality cotton with a nice tight weave. But if I layer it on top of other blankets it isn't an issue. I layered a hobbs polydown on top of it to give the quilting definition as the blanket was so flat. That quilt is super warm as well as heavy. Luckily, I am one that loves the feeling of the weight on me in the winter when it is cold. I sleep best in winter when I can keep the bedroom relatively cool and pile on the quilts.

Beautiful quilt. I haven't used old Army blanket for batting for a very long time, but they really are warm and last a long time.

Love it. Hope you washed and dried those blankets a few times. My mom was great at shrinking wool, mostly clothes. Your colors are terrific. Thank you.

Just beautiful, great use of scraps and I bet you hardly made a dent on your scraps fabric!

Don't dry it on high heat or the wool will shrink and it might ruin your beautiful quilt.
