Scrappy Mountain Majesties reduced for a baby
1 Attachment(s)
Here is the quilt I just finished for our first great-grandchild due next month. It's a reduced version of Bonnie Hunter's pattern. I cut the original squares 6.5" instead of 8.5". I had a devil of a time finding the border fabric, but I'm really pleased with this one. The back is teal Minky to match the inner border.

adorable. love the bubbles....was the minky hard to quilt? it must be soooooo soft.....
Thanks for all the kind comments. The minky was not hard to quilt. I glue basted the quilt with Elmer's School Glue, so the minky didn't stretch or move around at all. I think that's very important. I wouldn't try it with pin basting. It was a little heavier to handle though.
a very sweet quilt
Perfect baby quilt, bright and colorful.
Very cute. I hadn't considered that pattern at all for a baby...I may have to see what I have in my brights stash that would make one up - i'm working on a prayer lap quilt in dark blue and green in this pattern right now.
Cute quilt....

I'm a huge fan of Bonnie's, but this is not normally a pattern I like. Your version is wonderful! So very pretty and you sure did find the perfect border fabric. Thank you for opening my eyes to the possibilities and reminding me how different things can look when done a little differently than originally shown.
Love it. the border fabric is just perfect!
