Scrappy Mountains Majesties

Just finished a lap quilt for a friend who is moving to Colorado Springs to start grad school. The pattern is from Bonnie Hunter’s free patterns: https://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005...majesties.html. Super easy.
I used the label tutorial from Johanna Masko found here: http://seamslikely.blogspot.com/2012...ilt-label.html. Quilted with a walking foot using Hobbs Heirloom 80/20. Almost all the fabric was from my stash, except for the border which was Daisy Chain in Admiral Blue from Indigo Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics. The border fabric added a lot! |
Very nice & great theme for where your friend is moving. I really like what you did with the border, may have to try that.

Your quilt is very pretty. I'm sure your friend will love it.

I made a Scrappy Mountains Majesties for a friend who loves to hike. In the summer it is green mountains and in the winter it is icy snow covered slopes. She got the color choices immediately and it fit her and her husband's new home in Vermont perfectly. Nice easy pattern.
I did not frame mine with a wide border like you did. I like your choice better. The blue really sets the eye on the center. Thank you for sharing your work. Lovely. |
Terrific quilt for anyone but especially for someone living in Colorado. I've always loved the pattern, but have never gotten around to making it...maybe it should move to the top of my bucket list.

Lovely quilt! Congrats on using your stash for most of it. Thanks for including the links. Your label looks Great!
