After doing the Texas tumbleweed I will have lots of these. Thanks for the idea of what to do with them.

Absolutely love it!

So cheerful! Sometimes simple is the best.

Love your idea about using pinwheels for scrappy quilt.
Great quilt...I am a pinwheel addict.
It's really cute?l
Very pretty! I just can't get into doing the leaders and enders.
Very pretty! I love the simplicity of it and love it even more because it's scrappy.
Nice quilt.

Thanks for all the kind words! Glad y'all like it and I think the young couple will like it too. The bride is moving from Texas to Tennessee so it will be used, I'm sure. :)

What a fun way to use scraps. Love it.
Very eye catching! Looks like a happy quilt to me.
What a neat idea. I noticed you used what looks like a white or a muslim with all the pinwheels. That is a unifying way to tie together all the different scrappy fabrics. And I love the way you set the blocks. Looks very vintage. Thanks for sharing.

Love it!!!!

WOW!! It is adorable!! (Trying to type over my big boy Buddy!!) Love to use up those stash/es......
I love the way you put the pinwheels together as a 9 patch. Scrappy quilts have become one of my favorites to make. I no longer fuss over 'wasted' fabric.... it just gives me more scrappy quilts!
I love pin wheels. They just seem so happy!
Great idea! Ok, so each pinwheel us made up of 4 HST of same color...getting 2 out of 1 of color +white bkgrd square measuring at ??....thus needing to make 2 squares of same color combo for each pinwheel? OR am I overthinking this whole thing.....time for me to set up a new L & E basket...this might be it........

Yes, Geri B, two squares of each color makes one pinwheel block. My squares are 2 3/8" but I think 2.5" might be just as well because my pinwheels are usually a tad under 3". I began doing pinwheels years ago as leaders and enders because I love pinwheels but just making a 3" pinwheel quilt is a scary thought. This one is my fourth or fifth top and only third quilted one. I already have 12 nine patches completed and this time I have a 12 x 12 layout planned with no sashings, just pinwheels. 144 nine patches. I would never do that unless as a leader and ender. my background fabrics are anything light but predominately white. I like the clear difference in the two fabrics. But really it's all about scraps! :) |

This is the previous top, given to a lady who is to complete several tops and give them to young families she knows at her church. To my knowledge it's not quilted yet. :) Yes, I love pinwheels. |
What a great scrappy quilt......and to think, many people throw scraps away. The new bride will love it!

In the spirit of the scrappy, I used scraps for the back as well. It's hand quilted and is to be given next week as a wedding gift to a young lady who has made quilts for others. |
Very nice scrappy quilt.
