Thank you! That's one of my favorites!! It's called "FOLLOW THE LEADER" and it's on the cover of American Patchwork & Quilting April 2011. I just love that magazine; their cover quilts just grab me every time!! (Here it is again for those of you who may have missed it)

I think this has been the most fun thread ever posted here. My favorite type of quilt is a scrappy because I can do whatever I want and it's never wrong. I think it's the perfect type of artistic expression and anyone who says quilters are not artists is daft.

Here is one I made using dryer sheets as a foundation for the string squares. I had a lot of fun doing this- probably because there was no pressure by not using a pattern.

What size did you cut your dryer sheets to? Your quilt is gorgeous!

Scrappies are the true epitome of quilting, making do and using up. Sometimes I think we have gotten away from the economy of quilting when we get so much tied up in a quilt. Your quilts are beautiful!

Thank you! I don't recall where I found that pattern I named the photo starshadow but don't know if that's a real pattern name or if I made it up for picture but its easy enough to make , the 9 blocks are each made up of 36 3" squares .(they finish at 2.5") The border just 2 rows of 3 inch darks If you put it on graph paper, its really just the placement of darks and lights, with a few half squares . all my lights are tannish, and the darks are jewel tones, but you can use any light/ dark combination or even any size square you want if you want it smaller, like 2 inch squares in 12 " blocks etc... . This would look nice in black and white or black and gray too I think. finished size with binding is around 56" or so. Let me know if you have any more questions :-)

I just recently finished this pattern in blues and whites/creams. Turned out nice. I will put it up on this soon.
