This is a quilt I've made using used fabric sheets. I ironed the sheets to use for the foundation. Then I can sew my small scraps onto the sheets. It is a nice way to use small scraps.

I have a similar one that I put on a thin fabric foundation. But now I am wondering if it needs batting. What do you do? My friend backed hers with flannel and tied it - no batting.

I used batting and a backing. It is warm and soft. :)

I still use batting & backing when using a foundation.

Did you use used fabric softener sheets or used bed sheets? I wasn't quite sure. Either way it's lovely.

Hi Gaga...I used used FABRIC SHEETS. I tried unused one time only, and they are very greasy and cause grease on the fabric and iron. But the used are perfect. I've actually completed several of these. Thanks for asking.

Thanks for clarifying. I am going to try this.

I also do machine applique or hand applique on them to add to my quilts.
