I created this 5x7 little scrappy sign last night after I burned my fingers! We quilters never die, just stay in stitches! I tea-stained the whole thing and ragged the edges, then threw it in the dryer and embellished. Quick and easy! used dryer sheet as a foundation for piecing! Love that recylcling! :D thanks for looking, I just love looking at everyones work here, you all are so talented!

very cute. I have the same saying in my quilt cabinet, except in wood. Need to make it with fabric.

Oh how cute!! :)

Cute idea. I think my brain has frozen with the weather, not too creative of late.
|
What an adorable idea. Would make excellent gifts for a sewing group or gift exchange with quilters.

You are so right... me too. Love the little scrappy.. |
I LOVE it! I have no idea how to tea-stain - so your talents are immense in my book!

You people on this board are so creative! I can do nothing without a pattern, but I will keep on trying.

That is adorable. I love the look of it being tea stained. I haven't done that in a while.

Thanks! Tea staining is VERY easy...I sometimes use a mixture of tea and coffee if I have a little left in the pot from am coffee...I use muslin, but any light fabric will do..just soak it for about an hour or two, then squeeze out the tea/coffee, I place the project on an old towel and press with a very hot iron, best if you have an old iron as it can scorch on there...thats what you do to the fabric is scorch it, the longer you leave on, the darker it gets, it kind of does a natural spotting look, be careful not to use the point of your iron too much, because then the shape of the iron will come out on your fabric! Have fun, I sure love to do it!
