Wow! I'd say that you have the patience of a saint...that is a lot of work. It is a work of love and beauty.

I think we all had the same reaction, WOW! That’s a lot of work and a labor of love. I’m sure she loves it!

Wow is right. I would never have the patience, but your work is stunning and a beautiful "scrappy". Love how you did the border and the facing on the back!

Lots of time spent creating such a pretty scrappy! It's just lovely.

That’s so cool! What size hexies did you use?

cashs_mom 10-25-2022 06:44 PM

How pretty! What a nice idea for hexies.

How long did it take to make this work of art? It is sure to be treasured.

Splendid finish…she is sure to treasure your thoughtful gift. It’s always good to have a handwork project but that’s a lot of hexes.

Well done! I also use my quilts for tablecloths. I have a set of hard placemats that I use when dining.

not sure how long it took, though I believe this group of hexies started around February.

I have a love/hate relationship with hexies. I like doing an individual hexie when stitching around it, but hate putting all the hexies together. I know how much work that table covering was to make, but it sure turned out pretty.

Fantastic!

Love your table cloth. When I was looking at it an idea came to mind, it may be complicated enough to drive a person crazy though. So I was thinking what if someone made a table cloth with hexies and used a specific color in certain areas to make it look like that color was a place mat, and each placemat was a different color. Still scrappy but a group of blues in one section, red another etc. and in between all the different colors mixed in.

Starshine, I love that placemat idea! Just yesterday, I measured my dining table with a quilted tablecloth in mind. I will add that suggestion to my planning process!
