I was so so so careful to keep this in the right order and now that I am finished with the top, I see that I got a row backwards. My question is: Should I rip it out and fix it or will anyone even notice?
|
Being a novice, it took me a while to figure out which row might be wrong. Is it the top? I think it looks great the way it is. But if it is something that will drive you crazy, you won't be happy unless you fix it.
|
I'd leave it :) It gives the illusion that THAT'S suppose to be the top of the quilt :) And if you gift it, the person you gift it to will never even think about it unless you tell them :)

I love it as is. Scrappy quilts are the best!

I don't think it looks bad at all. However, if it were my quilt, all I'd be able to see is that it's not how I wanted it to be. So I'd rip it out and redo it. If you're careful you can perform surgery and take it out/replace it without having to take off the borders.
But, as I said, it really doesn't look bad. I guess it just depends on how attached you were to the way it's "supposed" to go. ;) ETA: Flipped row aside, it's a really nice scrappy look. :) |
Looks fine to me, didn't notice till I looked hard at it.

If it is not quilted yet, I'd fix it- just a few straight seams- you'll feel better when it is done- great quilt!

I'd fix it. But that's just me.
It's not that big a deal to remove the row (you do not have to undo the borders), press the seam allowances flat again on the row and border (makes it easier and cleaner for the next step), and then resew it back in place in the correct position. Check that twice to make sure you don't sew it back incorrectly (I did that once  ). Just take your time. You'll be surprised how quickly it gets done. Of course, you'll probably get 20 pages of "leave it in" comments. It's your (very cool) quilt. It's totally your choice. |
If it bugs you, then I would probably fix it. Good luck. Love the scrappy colors and diamonds!

I love it. But YOU have to decide if it bothers you. I love the way you did the borders.
