Scraps be gone

I had a stack of 2.5” strips from other projects. I decided it was about time I use them up or throw them away. So I divided them into lights and darks. This is what I came up with. What little I had left are headed to the dump tomorrow morning

You’re about to give me a heart attack! The dump? Oh NO!!🙈🙉 Look what a nice quilt you made with these! Someone will love getting a quilt like this! It came out great!

Cute quilt top!

You are one brave woman to through away fabric. LOL! I save the tiniest amounts for the trash and the strips as a someday stack.
Your left-overs quilt is wonderful. What size did it turn out to be? This is so funny. Great minds must think alike. I just made a top from a jellyroll of batiks. They have been sitting around for about four years. It is called a jelly roll drag race. I saw the video on a u-tube tutorial by Jordan Quilts.

Thank you ladies red, it turned out to be 50 X 59. Nice lap size for a nursing home or child. I didn’t throw away too much. Just the odd pieces

Well done! Should we all have such large and usable scraps. Lovely finish. An example for all of us for how to use those leftover strips.

Cjsews, that's a great quilt - so bright and colourful and such great placement of colours!

I also went faint at your comment about sending fabric to the dump. I'm someone who buys other people's tiny scrap collections from thrift stores and I'm sure there are many others out there who are the same. What about popping them all into a ziploc bag and dropping them off at your local charity shop?

For reference, I include my latest fall off the Fabric Moratorium wagon. These ones happen to be strips, but I've also bought bags of HSTs and 2" squares and...

Wonderful use of scraps. I particularly like the braided inner border. Great idea!
