i can't believe how easy & fun these quilts are. someone posted one last year and i just had to do it. will be doing more as my scraps multiply.

nice way to get rid of your scraps, very nice

Jennifer22206 10-26-2011 01:28 PM

that's on my list of quilts to make. Looks great.

Jill 10-26-2011 01:30 PM

It's on my list, too, especially since I love scrappy quilts.

Very pretty. I have a bunch cut out, but nothing done with them yet. I like the strips in between with the black and white.

Hen3rietta 10-26-2011 01:40 PM

I like that you made the strips go in different directions. Very pretty.

scrappy is how to make a French Braid in my opinion. I plan to do one that way someday. Yours inspires me.

Stitchnripper 10-26-2011 04:53 PM

It's just great! I love it! I made one similar, but had stretching problems. did you do some stay stitching before you trimmed the edges?

wvdek 10-26-2011 04:59 PM

This is so purdy!. I just love scrappy.

musicaljan 10-26-2011 05:03 PM

French braid is one of favorite to make! :D

Barbm 10-26-2011 05:12 PM

I sleep every night under a braid quilt made of scraps. Love it! Love the colors and the feel and the fact I made it myself.

Yours is so pretty!

blueangel 10-26-2011 05:28 PM

no, i didn't notice any problems with stretching. i did not stay stitch before i trimmed. i have been working on another one with thinner strips and i can see where it may be a problem.

i've only tried one Quilt as you Go and i hated it. so no, i just ran feathers up the braids and then put roses in pink down the black strips.

thank you all for the wonderful comments. this is probably the easiest quilt i've ever done. i was afraid of braids and now i just love them!

carolynbb 10-27-2011 09:00 AM

I just bought a binding tool ruler to make one from a youtube tutorial posted by Missouri Quilt Shop. I was going to do a planned one..but now that I see your scrappy one I really like it!! The sashing you put between the braids really set them off nicely!!
Here is the link to the one on youtube

Thanks for the suggestion...and thanks for sharing...crafty_linda_b
