If someone had explained that they were going to make a quilt out of old uniforms, and then shown me the fabrics, I would have never believed it could turn out nice. It's beautiful and you are so talented.

Ditter, this is simply heart-filled love that you did this. I bet she'll cry when she sees it. Did she know you had the scrub tops, or did you sneak them away from her? Cudos for a final project that is gorgeous, even if it took a long time. Maybe you had a mental block because of memories. I've done that before & cussed & fussed through it all, but like you, determined to finish. Aren't Quilters some strange beings sometimes? Great job.
|
It is going to be a wonderful quilt when finished. Congratulations.
|
Your daughter will love it. Very pretty quilt and the memories she will have. Great job!

Durn! I had made my DIL many scrub tops and had the scraps laying around for a long time. Yep, I just gave them to a thrift shop! I didn't think it was quilt material.

I think it is lovely and will be a treasured possession.
I remember the quilts my Mother made with scraps from making my clothes and loved them. Some were favorites and some weren't but I loved them all in the end. The piano key border was icing on the cake. |

Oh so pretty quilt! I think your DD will love it so much!!!! :D

Adorable! Seems like I just read your initial post a couple of days ago - you're quick! Perhaps quilt stethoscopes and stuff onto it - a cute touch!
|
Wow! What a great idea to use old scrubs for a quilt. I guess I better not toss any of mine out. I wear them all the time and when they get stains on them, now I'll know what to do wiht them. Save the good parts for a quilt. I bet your DD will be very happy with it. It is so pretty. Huggies, Fay
