Why do I always do this?? Why do I always choose to do things that are never simple??

There are 28 of these pieces to do all around the edge, THEN large black wedges to fill in between the pointed blocks, THEN a scalloped fabric pattern all around that has the corners mitered and matching the pattern.

It is definately being sent out to hand quilt. I am Soooo done with it.

once that top is together, you'll fall in love with it all over again.

you keep right on challenging yourself, pam. if this quilt is any indication, you are bound for a lifetime of spectacular works. :P

Is this a Beyer pattern?

pittsburgpam 02-08-2009 11:50 AM

Yes, it is a Beyer design. I was looking at her website the other day and they still have it but now the pieces are all pre-cut. I got this when it was just yardage. That's ok though since I am using the leftovers to make another star quilt.

Harmony 02-08-2009 12:52 PM

But Pam, it's going to be gorgeous, and worth all the work! Those colors are luscious! And everyone else here is right--it's good that you continue to challenge yourself. That's why your work is so wonderful!

Marcia 02-08-2009 01:05 PM

Wow, Pam, you do spectacular work! I am so impressed with the quilts you challenge yourself with. Great job!

Oh, that is just beautiful. You may be sick of it now, but when you sit back and look at it you won't be able to miss how awesome it really is.

Bevanger 02-09-2009 05:39 AM

Sorry for the hassle, but it sure is pretty..

Barbm 02-09-2009 06:00 AM

It is going to be stupendous! And remember- the pain will subside.... like childbirth.

You are so talented Pam!

pittsburgpam 02-09-2009 07:34 AM

My 3 children were Cesarean!

I have a problem though... I have the PDF of the pattern pieces 1 through 5, which is for a SINGLE star. I'm doing the 4 stars together so the long area on all 4 sides is template 6. I have #6 cut out in template material from long ago and it is waaaayyy too long for the space, I mean like 4 inches. I don't have the PDF of #6 and #7 (which is the small border for that space).

There has to be something wrong! I don't think it is my piecing since the whole thing is hand pieced right on the 1/4" seam lines and I checked it against the templates I used.

I wrote to Jinny Beyer sales department asking for template 6 and 7. I included that picture of the quilt to show that I actually have it and not just asking for a free pattern.

Joan 02-09-2009 08:22 AM

Pam. this quilt is nothing short of spectacular. I would't have even attempted something so difficult and it is already quite magnificent!

All I can say is what a challenge!

johnette 02-16-2009 02:27 AM

It's beautiful. I hope you get your template glitch resolved.

Diane007 10-30-2012 04:39 AM

nice colours.........

Wunder-Mar 10-31-2012 12:01 PM

LOVE THIS QUILT!!!! And everyone is right - you'll fall in love with this all over again when it's finished!

sewgarden 10-31-2012 12:43 PM

It is sure going to be beautiful. I've put off starting a Jinny Beyer kit that I bought because I know it wont be easy and I'll need to concentrate hard. I'm trying to finish off a few other projects first. I have to cut mine out too which is a bit daunting.

KwiltyKahy 10-31-2012 12:50 PM

Wow. Absolutely awesome. Love to look at jinny beyer quilts but won't attempt one
