Semaphore Stripes Done
1 Attachment(s)
I bought this kit from LQS about 5 years ago and finally started it this July. I was reluctant I guess because it requires using Y seams which made me wonder why did I purchase it (I loved it). It is a Krista Moser pattern (I'm addicted to) and she did a tutorial on Y seams and I decided to go for it.
I quilted it with straight vertical lines spaced 1" apart and I really like it and learned a new technique. Now on to finishing her Bepoke Stars quilt. Told you I was addicted to Krista Moser patterns. |
Great quilt!👏🏻

Wow! I love that quilt!!
that's one cool quilt!
Her patterns and instructions are so easy to understand. Great designs and a sweet and patient teacher.
What a great quilt! Those stripes really add to the pattern.
You did a fantastic job on the "Y" seams and stretched your comfort zone to complete a marvelous quilt.
Wowsers! That's quite an impressive quilt. Beautiful work.
Really cool quilt
That is one beautiful quilt! It makes me think of spring and flower gardens--just what I need on a cold, blustery winter day! Your y-seams are perfect!
I can see why you love it. The pattern and fabrics make for a stunning modern quilt. I recently got a pattern of hers called Hollow Stars from Goodwill that I am anxious to make. I did have to buy a diamond ruler for the pattern, but other than that I don't think it will be complicated. Just have to decide on fabric :-)

Very pretty and so colorful.

You did a great job on that quilt!

WOW, great job
That is way cool!! Love it!!
Very striking! Does her pattern suggest using the stripe for movement? Enjoy your finished quilt.

"The Semaphore Stripes quilt is the perfect way to use striped fabric to make a secondary design without all the complicated piecing stripes typically require, and it’s jelly roll friendly! This quilt combines strip-piecing with a few well-placed Y seams to get the most dramatic effect. The pieces are large and uncomplicated, letting the fabric do the talking." Many of her quilts are designed to suggest movement in the design and I think that is why I like them so much. Have made the Vintage Windmill, The Wreath Quilt, Entangled Sky and currently working on Bespoke Stars. I also have the material/patterns for City Girl Chevron, Champagne & Pearls and Fresh Fruit (her newest). Going to be a busy 2022. |
Fantastic quilt
