Several finishes - #1
I got on a quilting spree while working on the BH Mystery (told myself I could not start any new quilts while working on this one) and got all the floppies out in the shed finished up (yea!). But that meant I had 11 quilts to bind going into the weekend.
I do all my binding by machine, otherwise I'd never get them done. Affairs of the Heart #1 - this was a "test" to see if I could do the blocks using machine satin stitch. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psodmiscor.jpg Affairs of the Heart #2 http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psqpj2qr09.jpg These two use the same panel, the first is whole, the second is "fractured" and used four panels for the center. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psefii9cgx.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psorjkvu7f.jpg |
Several finishes #2
I bought several colors of ombre fabric a few years ago and made this for fun. Ended up with a large amount of scraps from it.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psabeufkgc.jpg So I took the scraps and cut them into 1" squares and use them for the 4/9 patch blocks for this quilt. This one is called Oh My Gosh!. I got tired of making the small blocks so went large for the border. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...pso54hgdbv.jpg When visiting MSQC a few years ago, I bought a couple of Singer panels and fabric. I found this free pattern on equilter.com - I get a lot of panel ideas from that site. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...pszk0rao5b.jpg This is a starburst pattern I got the idea from a small picture. Though after I got it all done and bound, I noticed I have one block wrong. Good reason to post pictures of floppies so things can be fixed. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psexthzju8.jpg |
Your quilts are amazing, so beautiful.

Several Finishes #3
BTW - every one of the quilts posted in this series was a floppy out in the LA shed since April. So it was about time I got motivated to get them done. I've got another stack of 12 floppies ready to take their place beside the LA.
Several years ago I made a bunch of cat blocks for a swap, and loved them so much I made a bunch more. Ended up with over 100 and this is the second quilt I've put them in. Still have about 40 left - they are just so cute! They are based on a Pam Bono design. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psl7o3tfnu.jpg I saw a picture of a quilt like this several years ago and found the trellis fabric right away, then spent two years looking for just the right rose fabric. There are two rose fabrics, one is smaller scale with lots of buds, and the other is huge roses. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psnodjcedu.jpg And last - this is using blocks from the 365 challenge. When I made the first center medalion, I decided it was not scrappy enough for the rest of the quilt so I set it aside. But I really liked the colors I'd used, so took it back apart and made more blocks to go with it. The Iris is an alternate corner block, but I preferred the original, but wanted to make it so I could say I've made every single block for that challenge. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psd9crrocz.jpg This is the medallion before I took it apart - not very scrappy! http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps0mtsrity.jpg |
