Great that you and your Husband found the perfect spaces for each of your hobbies.
Your Sewing room is just perfect. I know you will enjoy spending your free hours in it. Good for you.

How lucky for your Hubs and for you to have so much room to play! Now let's see what you can create!

Michellesews 04-13-2016 06:25 AM

Wow! Very nice!

I was just going to say that! I'm not posting pics of my sewing room after seeing that LOL

It's an awesome room. I've told my husband that when we downsize I need a large room for my sewing room. We have a very large house now a I use 2 upstairs bedrooms for sewing. I hate to admit it but they are both full :o

I would love to have a room away from things, but mine would have to be away from the garage or my husband would be in there all the time wanting me to "help" him on the cars. One of the good things about being upstairs is that he doesn't come up there to get me unless he really needs help because he has to climb the stairs :D

Nice sewing room.

Veinurse 04-13-2016 08:28 AM

Wow! I wish I had so much room!! But then I would have more room to make a mess. Congratulations on your sewing room!

ItsJustMe 04-13-2016 08:30 AM

Oh my goodness! Love, love, love your space. It would really be difficult for me to leave it. I know you will have many hours of creating pleasure.

TinkerQuilts 04-13-2016 08:40 AM

Very impressive! I'm still organizing my room after moving six months ago.

Looks to me like an embroidery machine under the blue and green cover.

Frankie 04-13-2016 08:42 AM

Your room/getaway is awesome!! You have an amazing collection of sewing/quilting machines. Love all the natural light too. Congrats on a beautiful space for your creativity. Btw, love the two cupboards (purple and orange) in the corner. Not sure where you found them but how neat are they!!

Plee1053 04-13-2016 09:26 AM

What an awesome sewingroom/studio! You are so Blessed! So much space and light and sewing machines, and clean and organized! I could go on and on! I need one of those! Love it!

rainsprite 04-13-2016 09:26 AM

Wonderful! Would you explain your different stations, what machine and where and why? There is so much to see in your room that I have been turning my head every which way to figure out what I am looking at. Why do you have sewing machines in three or four places and what is the machine with a digital screen. I am fascinated ..... I love your crazy cabinet! I hope you like Yakima. It is the fruit basket of Washington state so if you are into canning you will have amazing dishes all year long. Opposite side of the state here 40 miles from Pacific in Lower SW.

GABBYABBY 04-13-2016 09:40 AM

You have a beautiful place to do all your sewing, quilting and craft projects.

Sewfine 04-13-2016 09:40 AM

Love your sewing and how organized it is. I turned one of my bedrooms into my sewing/craft room.

roserips 04-13-2016 10:03 AM

Wow what a great space and nice work areas for each activity! Enjoy

llong0233 04-13-2016 11:17 AM

Wow, that is some serious sewing room you have there! Nicely done.

joyce888 04-13-2016 11:27 AM

Looks like you've got enough room and machines to host your own quilting bee. Great space!

Bren 04-13-2016 02:54 PM

What a great "woman cave"!!!

Barbara Kantola 04-13-2016 02:56 PM

What a lovely sewing/quilting studio! Congratulations! If I were you, I would never want to leave it. Thank you for sharing with us all!

Nice room! But I did not see much room for stash! Will you be able to add on?

See all those tall storage units in the room? Guess what they are filled with. You guessed it!!

Sounds like your move worked well for both of us--and what a sewing studio! particularly love the tons of natural light, your cutting table (sit down--how cool is that?!) and now neat everthing is! But can not for the life of me figure out what might be under your blue and green polka dot cover??

It's a 6 needle embroidery machine.

It is actually one piece of furniture. I found it in an antique/consignment store. My DH hates it, much too funky for his taste. It used to be in the dining room of our old house and held all my music and practice equipment. It still holds my music and a stereo and my light table and a couple quilts. Since there was room in the sewing room for it, it was "banished" to that room. I love it and enjoy it being in my sewing studio.

I do have a lot of machines, tis true. Let's see.....the machine with the red cover is my old Pfaff. It is used for darning and general mending and any straight line quilting. The machine opposite it is the one my students use. I teach sewing in my room and if they don't have a machine, that's the one they can use, it's a Janome. The machine facing the TV is my primary sewing machine, it's a Kenmore Elite. The 2 covered machines next to the TV are sergers. One is a singer and I use it for clothing construction. The other is a Juki and I use it to seal the seams on projects I do using terrycloth or any other fabric that sheds or unravels easily. The machine under the polka dot cover is a 6 needle embroidery machine. the machine with the digital screen is a Babylock Tiara free motion quilting machine. Under that table are 2 Bernina single needle embroidery only machines (when I do embroidery, I usually have all 3 machines going at once), I also have a machine in a rolling carrier, that's the machine I take to classes, it's a Janome 760. I also have a Brother mechanical machine my DH bought me our first Christmas together. If I have a student that is more comfortable with a mechanical machine, they use the Brother or the Pfaff - all the other machines are computerized. I love my crazy cabinet too.

Yakima is growing on me. My DH was raised here, I am a Southern CA beach bunny born and raised. We've been here 2-1/2 years, I canned my very first vegetables (pickled beets) our first year here and love the farms and farmer's markets I can visit for fresh fruit and produce. The best thing about living here is my DH's family. There are tons of them here and I enjoy them all!

Your very lucky to have a wonderful space for you to create, my concern is for the fabric in the bins which are directly in the sunlight. Pretty sure someone else probably mentioned this but just in case I thought I would say something.

They actually do not sit in direct sunlight. They are far enough against the wall that the sun doesn't directly hit them. The curtain on the window next to the bins is usually drawn, as are the shades on the window further down, because the sun blasts in early morning and afternoon and causes a glare in my room. You're right, it would be a real shame to have fabric faded by the sun. Those bins mostly hold my holiday fabric.

What a fabulous room to get creative in!! How close is it to the bathroom and the coffee pot? I'd never come out! haha

You have to go through the garage to get to the sewing room. So, you go through the kitchen to the laundry room, which is the access room to the garage. In the laundry room is a toilet. I thought it was crazy to put a toilet in the laundry room. And it's a high toilet, where all the other toilets in the house were not (they are now). There is a pocket door on the kitchen side that you can close and lock. Turns out, that is the most used "bathroom" in the house! So someone knew what they were doing. I'm a tea drinker, I use the coffee maker in the kitchen to make pots of tea. Have to come up for air sometime!
