Shaded Trails Variation Baby Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
This quilt was for a great nephew born in August. When asked what they wanted for a quilt the parents answered "greens" so that left a lot to be determined. I had admired a Shaded Trail quilt posted by board member Callen earlier in the year and decided I wanted to give it a try. I did make some changes so that my blocks went together continuously rather than sashed in order to keep the light areas smaller and then quilted with a block design. As I got to the end of this project I was completely out of some of my fabrics so the corner blocks inside the border are embroidered :-)

Great job on the green choices. They have given a nice shadow look to the blocks.
Your quilting design in the centre of the light green is awesome! (and imagine ... no John Deere's with all that green?:D:D:D) |

Another town boy who found himself a wonderful farm girl :) |

You really can't see it in the picture, but the top left corner is "Farmer in Training" with a green tractor :)

Very nice. Creative way to deal with shortage of fabric. I'd like to see the corner embroidered blocks close up.

The embroideries are: "Farmer in Training" (Mom was born and raised on a farm) "Read, Learn, Grow" (Both parents are avid readers and put a great deal of importance on education" "Happy Camper" (Dad's family love the outdoors and camp whenever possible) "Ultimate Frisbee Champion" (Both parents are Ultimate players and have participated in Provincial & National competitions) |
Well Done MamaBear ... for choosing ones that have such a personal meaning to the families.
Makes for a real treasure! |
