I have been WAITING for these guys...

Now does anyone know what a goat says?

Nanaquilts44 12-14-2011 12:55 PM

My brother-in-law's goats kind of make an "Eh, eh eh" sound. Cute pix.

Gilly 12-14-2011 12:59 PM

The goat says maa

annthreecats 12-14-2011 01:28 PM

QuiltE 12-14-2011 02:52 PM

Great fabrics!!

Are there any other animals in the series?
What brand so we can start watching for it in our LQS?
Thanks for the info!

Love you fabric! Don't care for stinky "billy goats" - I have up learning to love one and took him back to where I had gotten him!!!

liking quilting 12-14-2011 04:19 PM

have "given" up = sorry I should proof read before posting. ha ha

hensandhollyhocks 12-14-2011 04:20 PM

That is what our goats sound like. It is nearly a barking old man sound.

I tolerate mine, but he's a wether. He's a good weed eater in places I can't mow and I don't like to spray, but he loves flowers so get really angry if he comes off his chain. I call him the "gleaner" as well as he eats up spilled feed around the farm. Oh and he doesn't like grass, but alfalfa hay--yum yum!

knitnnan 12-14-2011 11:49 PM

We used to ride the neighbor's goats as kids... very spiny backs! But I don't really remember them bleating a lot.

I agree with Mavis, there is nothing worse than a stinky old billy goat. I grew up with goats, never did like the mild or the old billys. And I like the fabrics.

CajunQuilter2 12-15-2011 08:34 AM

Love the horse fabric. Wish it had been out about 6 months ago when I made a horse quilt for a friends granddaughter.

Wintersewer 12-15-2011 08:36 AM

They say Maaaa. And, yes, the bucks are very stinky and it does NOT wash off!! We raised dairy goats for years....love 'em!!

Hm, goats bleat, but then so do lambs and calves...

I know one billy goat said, "Oh, it is only I, the tiniest Billy Goat Gruff , and I'm going up to the hillside
to make myself fat."

haha! Cute critters!

The group is called "Farm Animals" and it is by Elizabeth's Studio. There are cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, horses, goats, and also eggs.

If you can't find it locally, we carry it (and we do ship internationally):

I think the goat says, "Look out ladies, here I come".

Favorite Fabrics 12-15-2011 05:55 PM

Oh .... hee-hee!

redquilter 12-15-2011 05:59 PM

I think they say something like "ehh, ehhh". The fabric is adorable.

cindy4857 12-15-2011 11:01 PM

a goat bleats and when it does it say's MAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Yooper32 12-16-2011 03:16 AM

Yes, my daughter has decided that Billy Goat Gruff is one nasty beast and wishes hubby had never brought him home from the sale.

StarofMoonDancer 12-16-2011 04:03 AM

Go to "giggle goats.com"

SunlitenSmiles 12-16-2011 05:13 AM

old goats say: hand me the remote, babe

olebat 12-16-2011 06:35 AM

Cute line. It should do well. Your lead-in reminded me of how one of my adult friends approached one of my high school exchange students. She asked him what sounds the farm animals made, named the animal, then they exchanged sounds made by German animals and American animals. It was too cute, but when she started singing Old McDonald had a farm, the rest of us lost our composure, then joined in. Those two went on all night with children's nursery rhymes. It was interesting to hear the variations on popular themes.

OmaForFour 12-16-2011 06:47 AM

The goat says maaa. The goat in the Aflac commercial does say Na Naaa as he eats the bosses papers and denies having the same coverage as the duck who is Aflac and the goat is not.

Riversong 12-16-2011 07:51 AM

We raised both growing up on a farm...sheep really do Baa and goats really Maa,,,funny things...

polly13 12-16-2011 10:57 AM

Well, I love the commercial on tv where the goat is eating the papers and when questioned says nyaaa

BarbaraSue 12-16-2011 02:39 PM

Mah, or bah, naaa or nyaa. They will say whatever they want and not always the same. One of female goats was in love with the billy goat before he got off of the truck!! Ahe came out of the barn going lalol, lalol, laaaaa. she rub his back, licked his face and was mounting him and the poor thing didn't even know where he was. Her sister on the other hand stayed in the barn, and stuck her head partially out to look at him, turned back into the barn. When she did come out, she just mosied out the slowest she had ever walked.

Rann 12-19-2011 09:01 AM

The goat says "It hurts when I butt you with my horns."

Favorite Fabrics 12-19-2011 09:14 AM

I should think it would!

Seriously... my grandmother told me long ago that her grandmother, over in Germany, died after being butted by a goat. I've never spent more than a couple of minutes around goats, but apparently you have to be careful!

Monkeynurse 12-19-2011 03:27 PM

Not sure about an adult goat but my kid says all sorts of stuff...;-)
