Don't know what the original pattern looked like but you certainly made some good choices for the changes you made. The fans make a nice contrast to all the log-cabins... I think this is beautiful!

Your version of the quilt is gorgeous as everyone has said. I like the way you brought your own panache to the quilt by adding elements that are uniquely you. I plan on doing the same. I like your fans very much so will steal that idea from you once i get to those blocks and figure out what sized blocks I need to make. :) Changing up the middle block really makes it pop in my mind. You did a good job and let me thank you for sharing the pattern with us. I found it on Fort Worth Quilters, they have all 5 months up. I am going to change all that white to black and the black to white. So mine will be even more different than yours just from the colorways.
