I got a lot of help and advice on my fleece back as I had never done one before....thanks ALL....I thought I would share a couple of photos with you of my quilt.

Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest, but the back turned out GREAT, thanks to all of your help and advice.

I truly appreciated it all...and I will quilt more with fleece now that I found out just how easy it was.

Thanks again, hope you enjoy the pictures.

1st Picture is the top...not to of a clear picture but you get the just.

2nd picture and 3rd pictures are of the quilting and the fleece back.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the board from Texas!

Thanks, I enjoyed making this one so much! I am so happy with the results.

The colors are so retro!!! Had I had it done the day before yesterday, I could have entered it in the fair.

Maybe next year...LOL.

I have a lot of fleece that I rescued from a train wreck, long story. I should use it for quilt backs because I am not using it for anything else!

Your quilt is beautiful, btw!

Beautiful. I'll have to try a fleece back soon. Thanks for sharing.

Oksewnsew 08-24-2011 08:48 PM

Love it...I have a question, did you use any batting, or just top and fleece?

Jean

Great job! I love fleece - it's so warm and snuggly.

DeMaris 08-24-2011 08:57 PM

Yes, I used batting, and I love the outcome of it. I tried a sample quilt first and it worked great. My friend that I am sending this to is in a nursing home and the AC is on all the time and she is cold...so this made it heavier and it turned out great. I used the longarma and an all over pattern to quilt it.

Thanks, great idea.

What a wonderful idea to put fleece on the back of a quilt! How cuddly it will be! Nice job!

Lucky Lady 08-24-2011 10:37 PM

That looks great. I would like to try a quilt using the fleece as backing. Did you use batting in the middle or just add the top right to the fleece?

debcavan 08-24-2011 11:58 PM

I love the graphic nature of the quilt top. Fleece is so cuddly as a backing

sewnsewer2 08-25-2011 02:23 AM

I love this one! Isn't using fleece for the back great?

QweenBee 08-25-2011 03:02 AM

very pretty

Moedeenie 08-25-2011 03:28 AM

Your friend sure will be warm and cozy now! I love the pattern and fabrics you selected. I never thought about using fleece for backing but it surely will provide great warmth and your quilting is very impressive. Thanks for sharing!

sarahrachel 08-25-2011 04:11 AM

If you ever want to make a warm comforter (I'm always cold so made one for myself) make your top, then use a high loft batting and use fleece on the back. I don't suggest quilting but tying instead, it keeps it poofy. and for a true comforter like look, use the birthing/pillowcase/envelope method. If you don't know how to do that, I put a tut up. But it looks great and will definitely be warm!

donna873 08-25-2011 04:24 AM

I love these colors and I bet napping under that is going to be a dream..wow.. love it!

thequilteddove 08-25-2011 05:32 AM

I absolutely love fleece & minky backings!

Dianemarie 08-25-2011 06:46 AM

fleece back does that mean no batting ? Economics going through my head right now as to which would be least expensive especially if we're giving them away or for children. Hummmm

alikat110 08-25-2011 07:29 AM

Nice

Jim's Gem 08-25-2011 10:30 AM

Beautiful quilt!

QuiltforPD 08-25-2011 11:58 AM

This is pretty and I bet it is super soft and warm too. Love the fleece on the back!!!

Gramma B 08-25-2011 01:38 PM

That looks like it's ready to be cuddled with

DeMaris 09-20-2011 08:08 PM

My son hugged it before I packed it up and mailed it to my friend. I told her about that and she started crying and told me that she would hug the quilt every night so she could get a hug from Garrett (she considers him her grandson).

She cuddles with it all day and all night long....she loves it.
