We had a challenge in my quilt guild to make something with a star or comet on it. I made the shooting star block and put it together in attic windows. There were only 8-10 of us that participated in the competition, but I won first place. I'm so excited. I'm my own worst critic and this recognition meant a lot. I posted a pic before, but thought I'd post it again.

BTW, it will be in the quilt show April 10-11 in Hannibal. Anyone up for a trip to Missouri?

Katrine 03-03-2010 07:17 AM

Well done - it's very effective!

DebraK 03-03-2010 07:21 AM

CONGRATULATIONS! It looks great!

I'm working on our guild challenge right now and although I'd love to win, I've seen better. But who knows! Maybe when I tell them it's the first quilt I've ever completed on my own they'll give me the sympathy vote. LOL

I love the way you set the shooting star in a window. Great idea! You deserve the recognition. Hope it does well in the upcoming show, also.

I don't know where Mansfield is. Hannibal is in the NE corner of Missouri (on the banks of the Mississippi).

Me!!! ME!!!! I have tons of relatives in the Washington area....
Oh, wait...I live in CA and have no money for ticket!! BOO!!

Best of luck with the show. Our guild had our show in January and we did great!!! Seems people are doing stuff like that instead of taking weekend trips.

Love your shooting star, too!!! Wonderful effect.
