I want to see your photos of bedrooms with quilts you've made!
When the DH and I were married (second time for each of us) I requested "no gifts"--Well, my quilter friends ignored that and made the quilt that hangs on the wall behind our bed. It is queen size and the bed is a king. That's the reason it's on the wall. I had the quilt displayed at the end of the bed in the works when we were married. When we built our new home 4 years ago, I chose the turquoise and sand wall colors because I wanted a fresh Caribbean feel to the room. We placed the quilts and it all "worked" because when you collect what you like--you eventually can put it all together and it looks fine.

Thank you Gem! I have to say that I should update the photo. I realize now that this one doesn't have the head and foot board that we added about two years ago! Got to watch those metal stubbers sticking out from the corners! LOL

I always say I need to make a quilt for my own bed but I never do! They almost all end up as gifts!

Very pretty room! And wonderful quilts! I LOVE the colors in them! That room really does have that island feeling...like a full time resort.
Here's a picture of mine. My MIL made me this quilt...I have yet to keep any of the ones I make...it is wonderful to have a terrific MIL to do some for me :)

Love the pics shown, can't show any of mine as I haven't made any quilts big enough for our bed. I started with miniatures and I'm up to lap or twin size. But I do want to do the Star quilt by Atkinson that's on the foot of your bed, funny, I just was reading the directions for it this a.m. I thought I'd do it monochromatic in lime green batiks.

Beautiful room. When I see quilts on a bed, my first thought is about sun and light damage. I have had two of my quilts (both hand quilted) almost ruined because of sun exposure, both made with fabrics from dresses that I made for my daughters when they were growing up. Please be aware of when during the day, you need to close the blinds. Believe me, it will save many tears....Kaye
