For a Silent auction
 

I just finished this on time! The auction is the seventeenth of this month. In all fairness though, I just found out from hubby I was to make it. LOL! Men, they think we are wonder women. I hope it brings a fair amount of money for the parents of a deathly sick little boy in the hospital. I call it "Paint it Black" like the song. But, I won't tell them that.

Hubby asked for an Art quilt. I just didn't know what else to do but to use the batik fabrics in this quilt. I am not a art quilt maker.

I had the black 80/20 batting on hand and ordered the black and dark grey backing at amazon so it would be on the fast track to me. The weavings are quilted with a variegated thread and of course the black with a black. I was happy with it and that is saying something. I am my worst critic. It is quilted so it could be hung or used. Pretty heavily.

Looks great! I like black in my quilts. It makes the colors "pop" or stand out.

That's a beautiful quilt & I hope it brings in a ton of $ at the auction. Thank you for making this for the family & my prayers are being lifted up also for God's healing in this young boy's life & for strength & comfort to his parents.

Put the value high. We start all of our donations 1/2 the value at our silent auctions. I would hope that under the circumstances, people will be very benevolent. Keep us posted.

Not much notice and you still did great ! Reminds me of a story told by my friend, it went like this: Granddaughter (who lives a stone’s throw away) comes to Grandma’s house and asks if she would make a crocheted afghan for a school fundraiser. Of course Grandma can do it. When do you need it ? Tomorrow !

I love that story. It really does make you wonder what people think.
