I always love simple, random scrappy quilts - they're fun, easy to make and provide an explosion of color. This one is on it's way to snuggle with the newest member of our extended family - Welcome to the World, Charles Wallace!

My husband and I both love scrappy! We both grew up on an age when you used what you had. Love your colorful quilt! Grow up with your beautiful quilt, Charles Wallace!

Really cute quilt. I love the square in a box design. Going to make one of these soon.

I couldn't agree more. Love the quilting you chose as well.

Very nice and a great way to use all those different fabrics.

I so like this way of using odds and ends to make a scrappy quilt. I have done more than one using batik scraps. Quick, easy and will deplete the scrap bin. Attached is one that ended up as a wedding gift. Our individual blocks are different sizes but the concept is the same and with the straight line stiching it is quick finish. Yeah, for you!

What a great scrap buster and a wonderful colorful quilt.

Would you mind sharing your cut sizes for your blocks? It’s beautiful. Thank you.

I saw many variations but after playing around in EQ8 I came up with a finished block of 9" x 9"

Center: 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Sides: 4 1/2" x 3"
Top/Bottom: 9 1/2" x 3"

I expect I will keep gobbling up my scraps making this simple quilt over and over for easy giveaway quilts. Hope this helps you and please do share what you come up with!

Not that I know of but now I must ask!

Very nice, I love scrappies, but I also love to do log cabins.

I love this pattern too. I do it in so many variations. I haven’t done it like this before. Cute
