"Simply Lavender and purple" Scrappy Irish chain
1 Attachment(s)
I'm learning so much...and most of you can identify. A year ago I started FMQ--really a year and a few months now--it was last July when I tried for the first time--scared to death. I'm not "good", but I've certainly seen that I'm improving.
Now, I tried to make daisy type flowers in the middle of this quilt. I'm scared to try to mark on the fabric with a pen, because it seems like I tried on it before and couldn't get the marking out, so I'm determined to try to learn to eyeball things. At least until I want to get really "perfect". :) Anyway, I made the top a while ago (maybe last year...??), but quilted it this week. I'm starting to enjoy the quilting part. Beautiful quilt. It looks like you are doing a great job on quilting. I bought a new sewing machine for quilting. I am going to learn free motion quilting this winter.

Wow...wonderful!!! Good job! Its gets easier and so satisfying being able to do it yourself.

I love Irish chains. I am with you, practice practice and grow as we learn. Your quilt is wonderful.

Beautiful quilt. I am at about the same level as you with the quilting, though I have tried to challenge myself to do something new each time. I found the best marker (for me) is the Bohin, which is like a mechanical pencil with colored chalk leads. I sat and erased the marks with an artgum eraser at first, but found out it washes right out by itself. A little more expensive, but so much easier.

Love the colors in this quilt!
