I have this little machine that I just brought down from the attic. Is the crank usually on the other side? I also have the manual.

OMG this is really old and valuable in this pristine condition. Contact Lostn51, he can tell you all about this one. You are so very lucky. Crank is on right side of machine

What a cute little machine. I don't know about the crank.

PurplePassion 10-28-2010 07:58 AM

I wish I had an attic , to bring something like that down from. It is beautiful.

Prism99 10-28-2010 08:00 AM

I think the photo is simply of the backside of the machine. Can tell by the presser foot and presser foot lever.

I agree that this is likely to be very valuable because of its pristine condition. Be sure you understand how to keep it this way! My mil gave me an old child's sewing machine that she had wrapped in plastic "to keep it in good condition". The moisure trapped by the plastic rusted it to the point where it has no commercial value anymore.

Linda71 10-28-2010 09:30 AM

I am planning to keep it in a glass fronted cabinet in my sewing room.

wolph33 10-28-2010 09:36 AM

wow that is awesome

vintagemotif 10-28-2010 09:41 AM

Beautiful machine!

MaryStoaks 10-28-2010 09:57 AM

I'm drooling! I've wanted one of these for a long time. A friend has one from her grandma and I think they're so nice. You are a lucky gal!

pojo 10-28-2010 09:59 AM

Wow what a machine to own.

Lostn51 10-28-2010 10:17 AM

That is a cute little Model 20 and in great condition to!! But it is a childs machine and they are collectible but not worth a gold mine. But it will bring the same money as a full sized machine close to $135+ in that condition.

I will have to look up the needles for it but they are out of production. You have a very nice and desirable machine on your hands and I wish I could find one that nice!!

Latrinka 10-28-2010 10:48 AM

It's beautiful!

LeeAnn 10-28-2010 01:05 PM

It may be for someone left-handed. If so, it is even more valuable than you think. What an awesome machine. I want an attic!

cctx. 10-28-2010 02:34 PM

I like it! Cute machine.

KatFish 10-28-2010 02:46 PM

Your looking at the rear of the machine, look at the presser foot.

I was just going to say the same thing...Lovely machine...I never find those kind of things in my attic.

Linda71 10-28-2010 04:46 PM

Looking at the machine again, the two bigger labels go to the back. I presumed the bigger labels would be forward facing but I checked the manual and it shows the machine with a small singer label to the front.

sueisallaboutquilts 10-28-2010 06:11 PM

That is sooooooo cool!!! Wow, what a find!! :D

Quilter4HireAndFun 10-28-2010 06:13 PM

It's wonderful. I hope you actually get to use it...and enjoy it!

CarrieAnne 10-28-2010 06:28 PM

Its adorable, lucky you!

katlady 10-29-2010 06:12 AM

What a beauty!! Is the machine able to sew?
Hang on to that one.

Linda71 10-29-2010 06:16 AM

I don't know if it can sew, haven't tried yet.

rosalia856 10-29-2010 11:18 AM

I relly loved seeing your attic find. My grandmother gave me one similar to this when I was five. I wanted baby clothes for my doll at Christmas and she gave me this sewing machine and my mom who taught for Singer showed me how to make a gathered skirt out of my brother's left over bedroom curtain material. Yes, just like the "Sound of Music" LOL . I too have the maneul . I keep it in my glasses book case in my sewing room as a reminder of how much my grandma wanted me to learn how to sew and my mom's talents to show me how to sew. Thanks for sharing

fktsewing 10-31-2010 11:01 AM

WOW--how lucky you are. Display it proudly. Was it left by a previous owner or a relative of yours?

The hand crank is right where it belongs. Do you have the
"C" clamp for it?
That's a very nice little toy.

Often they don't sew very well. It makes a chain stitch.

Linda71 10-31-2010 11:39 AM

I have the clamp.
