As some of you may remember, my mom passed away in November. My oldest sister and I are very close, so I know she's taken it quite hard. For her birthday last month I made her this table topper. It's made from fabrics that mom gave me a few years ago.
The top is a beautiful white linen and the bottom white cotton sateen. My sister loves it. I'm so glad I did this for her. Sorry the photo is pretty bad. I was in a hurry. |
Wow lovely quiling, what a sweet thing to do for her.

That is so sweet of you! Its beautiful and I'm sure she will love it. Sorry to hear about your loss. My deepest and sincere sympathy to you and your family.

So sorry about your mom. What a nice idea to do this for your sister!

Really a stunner! Sorry for your loss.

Very nice runner, your Sister will cherish it forever I'm sure.

Beautiful runner I know your sister will treasure it. My Mom died 4 years ago and I still put at least one patch from some of her clothes in every scrap quilt I make.

Beautiful Job

Thanks everyone for the sweet compliments. As usual, this board was the inspiration. I saw someone's mention of McTavishing, and decided to follow the lead. That drew me to wanting to give it a try, especially after seeing a couple of YouTube tutorials from Missouri Quilt Co. In the end this was both practice and a gift. My sister does love it. She is so proud that I used the linen from mom's stash. But, I don't think she'll use it.
