We had our bi-annual quilt show this past weekend. I am new to the guild, so this is the first time I've worked a quilt show or had quilts in a show. I am going to attempt to post pictures of the quilts I put in the show. If that is successful, I'll post pictures of some of my favorites of the show.

Thanks for taking time to look at my quilts and for all the compliments! I just read the fine print in the program from the quilt show. I am not allowed to post any pictures without permission from the creators of the quilts. So, after my next quilt guild meeting (Thursday night), I may post a few more pictures. I just need to find the quilters and ask their permission first.

i love your dogwood quilt - is that a pattern that you could share or at least the name so I can get one??

Isn't it fun to have a quilt in a show?? Our quilt guilds show is in October and I think I will submit three - great incentive to finish two of them!!

Dogwood Delight

I purchased this wall hanging kit at the 2007 SMQA show. It reminded me of some of the beautiful spots on the drive to Yosemite Nat’l Park when the Dogwood is in bloom. I wish I’d looked closer at actual Dogwood blossoms before making this wall hanging. Dogwood blossoms have only four petals, though if you look closely at mine, some of the flowers have more. I guess we could make a game of it, kind of like “Where’s Waldo?” We could ask “What’s wrong with this quilt?” But then, I am not sure I want to open that question up for discussion!

PS the funny thing is that right after I submitted that write-up, a friend who had just been to Yosemite posted pictures of the dogwood in bloom on facebook, and the blossoms had more than 4 petals!

PSS I'm at work right now, but when I get home tonight, I'll get the name of the pattern maker for you.

Thanks!! I love dogwoods, having grown up in the deep south and now living in MN I find myself wanting dogwood quilts all over my house!!
