Snail Trail
1 Attachment(s)
So I've started a new "mini" quilt ... it will be 16 blocks ... Only 6 more to go!
I could make it bigger but the only other colours I have of the greens / blues are pink and orange ... Unless someone has a brilliant idea for layout (I can make 8 squares with each colour) ... then I'll likely just stop at these 16 blocks. Here's the start! If you did the green into the pink then the yellow and the blue on top it could be a sunset.

Hi Marion, you could also go more scrappy and mix up all the "quarter" blocks and add all the colors you mentioned. I have seen the ST done this way and it looks cool.

Love your blocks. Have never done a snail's trail. I really like yours.

This looks great so far. I would play around with what you have. I bet you'll come up with something spectacular.

Thanks all!
Ube ... as usual you are full of fabulous ideas! I googled scrappy snail trail, and they do look fun! So I'm going to do like you suggested and do them in blocks of four of the same colours and just have them kind of "random" ... Now I have to go and replace some pieces LOL |
How about pinks and purple for a beautiful sunset look? Love the Snail's Trail blocks.
|
I like tesspug's idea.
|
I love, love that blue....
|
Very pretty so far!
|
OK, I'm ridiculous! LOL ... I don't like the "scrappy look" of the snail trail, but I don't have enough fabric to make a bigger quilt.
So, I'll just do a wall hanging of 4 squares and call it quits. At least I know how to make it, and when I want to make another one, I will make sure I have tons of fabric to make a big one! |
Great work!
