This is what I'm working on now. The center blocks are embroidered Brilliant Roses design.

That is REALLY pretty--how many blocks are you going to make? Will it be a wallhanging or a quilt?

Bevsie 03-12-2009 08:09 PM

Hi Shadow,

I just left chat to go to bed, but I had to see your sneak peak of your rose quilt blocks. Absolutely awesome.....it's just beautiful.

I am assuming you're embroidering on quilters cotton of some brand, right? What type of stablizer are you using to do them? I use Sulky brand stablizers (thread too) for my embroidery. Just curious and always open for suggestions and tips, of course.

It's great.....

Bev

RedGarnet222 03-13-2009 08:47 AM

Well ..... For goodness sake! You sure can sew like a house on fire, shadow. I get way too much company during the week to be able to power sew through mine. And of course, my time I spend here, admiring.

I love the colors you chose and the pattern for the blocks is perfect for these blocks.

PrettyKitty 03-13-2009 08:54 AM

OMG Shadow...it's absolutely beautiful!! Your description made it sound sooo pretty, but words just can't describe it! Beauty in it's purest form is as close as I can get to an accurate description! Just like it's creator! You have soooo much talent, thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Sew and Sew 03-15-2009 01:42 PM

Shadow........I love your quilts........I just do not understand how you turn out so many so quickly........You make me tired just looking at all of your production........it is unbelievable.......I need to purchase a machine embroidery book and see what I am doing wrong to make mine pucker around the design.......I use the needlw size they recommend, use stabilizer.....don't know what I am doing wrong.......but your work is beautiful.....

Debra Mc 03-15-2009 05:34 PM

Girl, didn't take you long to get that embroidery thing down. Isn't it fun. I made my little gs a camo & related colors quilt with different animals on it. Haven't quilted it yet but sre turned out cute. His daddy wants it too. Love your patterns, they are so pretty. My gd would love it. Pink is her color.

Debra Mc 03-15-2009 05:38 PM

Hey Sew & Sew, just read your post. My teacher says that the more stitches there are, use more stabilizer. The quilt I just finished had pictures with over 20,000 stitches so I used 1 layer on the hoop & floated 3 more under it. Worked a lot better. I found out thru trial & error that sometimes more is better.

littlehud 03-15-2009 05:40 PM

That is beautiful. Is it going to be a table runner or a quilt. I love the colors. Could you post some close up pictures of the blocks. I would love to see your embroidery. You do such wonderful work. Giving that new machine a work out.

roseville rose 03-16-2009 05:23 AM

JoanneS 03-16-2009 11:46 AM

Love it Shadow! You're making great use of that embroidery machine. Have you tried it for outline quilting yet? That's what I bought 4D software to do.

Knot Sew 03-16-2009 11:56 AM

I love that color and the design is great...love it :D
