It's probably not what you were expecting! This group by Ingrid (is she a new designer for Moda?) features gnomes and mushrooms. Moda will also be offering FQ bundles, charms, layer cakes, and jelly rolls. All due in stores in mid April.

Any ideas for those prints? The dots and checks are generally useful. The mushrooms make me think of a set of canisters that my Mom had in her kitchen in the 70's.

How would you use this group?

Twirly skirt for a little girl. I don't know if I could make this one work for a quilt. :D

Is it just me or do the mushrooms remind everyone of a 1970's cannister set??

Favorite Fabrics 10-30-2010 05:50 AM

My Mom's mushroom canisters were brown, orange, and avocado though...

Gnomes-Yay!!! I love gnomes!! When I get old(er) I'm going to be the crazy lady with hundreds of gnomes in her yard. Don't know what I'd make with the fabric but love the gnomes and of course, I'll buy some!!

I can't think of a way I would use this fabric. My DD would love the colors though.

erstan947 10-30-2010 07:00 AM

I love the colors and the stripes, dots and plaids.

LOVE the fabric! Maybe a kitchen set... apron, potholders, towel trims, etc. Use the panels for the middle of a throw quilt. Too Cute!

I really love these fabrics. So bright and happy. I especially like the mushrooms.

I love the gnomes! I love the whimsical prints! I would do a wallhanging maybe. :)

I bet we had the same canisters! I doubt the fabric would even catch my attention if I was browsing in the store. Gnomes just aren't my thing and I've outgrown mushrooms. Sorry ;)

Quiltforme 10-30-2010 02:13 PM

Yeah not my favorite.

Cyn 10-30-2010 02:15 PM

Not really my taste but they do pop!

I wish the gnomes weren't so cartoonish looking, some of the other's though are very cute :D:D:D

trisha 10-30-2010 08:26 PM

Makes my eyes hurt!

Annaquilts 10-30-2010 08:29 PM

They don't appeal to me and I love gnomes. I'll be skipping on these and yeah on the cartoonish look and hurting my eyes.

KiwiQuilter 10-30-2010 08:36 PM

Not a fabric line I would go for. Sorry.

Aunt Patti 10-31-2010 09:39 PM

not sure maybe pillow cases I" luv luv luv"nomes very fun

AnneT 11-01-2010 01:22 AM

A picnic blanket, placemats, potholders or table runner for the kitchen, m a y b e a quilt for a kid, b u t ...
The cartoonish gnomes are my least favourite of this line, too. Like the dots, which are always a no brainer.
Just my two cents.

Favorite Fabrics 11-10-2010 05:54 AM

We decided to order all the dots ('cause they're fun) and all the checks; together just these will make a nice grouping. And we ordered the mushrooms on brown and the gnomes on yellow.

By the way, it's actually a nice yellow, not too goldy and not at all mustardy. Not too strong; should "play well with others".
