So excited.......won TWO raffle baskets at the quilt show

Over the weekend I attended a great quilt show put on by the Illini Country Stitchers in Champaign IL. The show was wonderful and really showcased the impeccable piecing and quilting of very talented ladies. I arrived late on Friday, so went back on Saturday to take pictures, visit the vendors and buy some raffle tickets. I jokingly told the lady, "I really don't need to put my name and number on the tickets as I never win, but want to support the hard work and thought that was put into making them." Low and behold, when we got back from an Octoberfest that evening I had a message on the answering machine that I had not only won one basket, I had won TWO: the baby basket and the basket with TWELVE 18" x 22" wall hangings for each month of the year. WOW!
We have a brand new grand daughter born September 28th, so this will be sent to Penelope (Penny) on Tuesday :) It includes the following: And the second basket of 12 wall hangings, plus the wooden quilt hanger! Here is one of the wall hangings. Such meticulous work for a donation too: great applique and quilting By the way, I only bought 6 tickets ($5) for the raffle quilt and 6 tickets ($5) for the raffle baskets, putting only one ticket in ea. of the six choices. My DH said I should have bought a lottery ticket that same day, ha, ha. So grateful to the wonderful talented ladies who put them together. Thank you! |
Wow! What fun. I agree with your husband, you should have bought a lottery ticket...not too late, you know. Maybe you are on a winning spree!

Congratulation. That sailboat quilt is very cute. Lucky Penny to get the first basket.

Wow!
You scored big time. Lovely work on the small hanging quilt. Could you please show us the rest? I bought a 12" free standing hanger and am having a hard time deciding what to make for each month. I've never won a basket or the larger wall quilt they raffle off......maybe I should come shake your hand or rub shoulders, ROFLOL |
