First are the fabrics I chose to make an autumn table runner. I am not sure about using the leaves though. I am not one that has an eye for matching fabrics. :? What do you think? Use the leaves or find something else?

Second are some dark colors that I have chose for a table runner or a wall hanging. I am not so sure about the red on this one. I think it is a little off from the red on the black fabric. I also like all dark fabrics sometimes but my mother always feels there should be some light colors as well. What do you think?

I have to agree with you on both. The leaves do not macth the pumpkins at all. The red is too red it needs to be a little more towards the orange instead of red red. I hope that makes sense.

What does the leaves in the second group look like with the pumpkins from the first group?

I think the three fabrics in the first picture go together very well! It's fine that one has leaves - it's all about fall, right?

In the second group, I would say those leaves don't go with the red, but both the leaves and the red go with the green. So I'd choose one or the other for the green, but not both.

The red is the only one that bothers me. The others look great.

Love your fabrics - maybe a different shade of red - or the computer maybe changing the color too. I like the leaves with the pumpkins.

i like the orange pumpkins, the multicolored leaves and the green with each other.

the orange/brown leaves look nice with the red somehow.

it 's the orange, brown and white print that i don't think goes with anything else there. it's nice on its own but it it has a 30's era look that's out of place with the other fabrics.

The first fabrics seem to compete with each other. All have the same value of print. If you had a solid color with small print or simple all over pattern it would help the eye to rest and give contrast. i.e use the orange pumpkins, green/gold, and the leaves/black together.

Looking at the red its hard to see in this picture if it picks up the reds in the leaf fabric next to it. If it does, great, if the colors are off, then I'd choose another fabric.

I think a brown would look good with the pumpkins, if you could match the brown in the pumpkin fabric. And for me, the 3 prints kinda fight each other and I think it would look better if the 3rd fabric was a solid or tone on tone, or at the most, a small print. And I agree the red is too red! I'd switch the leaves. Maybe add a burt yellow to the second set and get rid of the red.

In the 2nd group I like the leaves and the green - the red it too red. In the 1st group I like the pumpkins; find something to tone it down and easy on the eyes; maybe a solid or a small print.
