Hope you enjoy seeing these as much as enjoyed making them. I love this site and can't wait each day to see all the lovely quilts everyone is making.

The sampler quilt in photo 1 was quilted with my embroidery machine (hooped many, many times). I didn't have enough of any one fabric for the outer forder, so I pieced the border out of all the colors and tried to make it look like the border pieces went behind the fabric and out the other side.

The spiral table runner in photo 2 has only 5 colors because I made one from memory after seeing one in a quilt shop. Had no pattern so did a lot of trial and error (and ripping out) to get it to look similar to what I remembered. Then the 3rd photo shows the placemats I made to match. Gave them to my sister for Christmas. She gets something quilted from me every year.

The drunkard's path on photo 2 was made by appliquing circles onto squares with the circle attachment on my sewing machine then the squares were cut into 4 pieces to make the drunkard path pieces. Then they were all resewed to together randomly so that there was not one complete circle, just half and 3/4 circles. It was quilted with circles using all the fancy stitches on my machine.

oooh I love that sampler, green is my favorite color, but the blue in the drunkards path could change my mind. Beautiful, all of them!

I too love the quiltboard. Your quilt is wonderful Was the border hard to layout like that. I really like that idea. Your spiral placemats have given me inspiration! I have the ruler but have yet to use it.

Mostly it takes careful measuring.

I just began measuring in the top left corner and planned the first color down and to the right to be the same length. The actual corner is a separate piece when it comes to measuring. Then the next color down and right the same length, etc. Carefully cut the 45 degree angles to join the pieces so that they are going the right direction! (Goofed once and wasted some material.) Don't forget to allow an extra half inch on each piece for seams. When you get near (or at) the top right corner, stop, then move to the bottom right corner and work left and up. The final 2 corners (top right and bottom left) will be whatever is leftover. I managed to make the bottom left corner work out to a perfect 45 degree angle where 2 colors joined.

After I had it all laid out around the quilt, I sewed each side together and attached to the quilt.
