I like to do minatures and the lastest one is a pattern by Carol Doak called Mariners Compass. It is for my guilds' aucion next month. It is 10" in size and contains 232 pieces. I need to quilt it and then it will be ready. It is also my avatar.

WOW... how do you get those tiny pieces under the quarter inch pressure foot....I am doing a quilt that has 1 1/2" half square triangles and I find this to be very challenging...cant image doing the size you are doing..

sahm4605 09-24-2010 12:21 PM

I love it!!! I will have to look that one up and see if i can get it for free. I am doing a quilt for my son and have two mariner compass type blocks already in the plan. have all but one of the blocks done in one of the patterns that I have. The other block is needing to be made from 12" to 24" or 36" not sure which size to make it.

Thanks for all of the comments. The little quilt is 10" by 10". My seams for this size are 1/8". They are fun to do and keep me out of trouble. hehe

IBQUILTIN 09-25-2010 09:36 PM

What wonderful work. Tell me, is it easier to start with the bigger blocks, and downsize to learn the miniatures, or to learn the minis first because by then you are being more accurate?

Kathy46 09-26-2010 10:35 AM

To me, it doesn't make much difference which size you start with. I have more problems with the bigger blocks because I fail to cut a piece big enough to start with. This is paper piecing and the little ones are so much fun to do.

Hossrider 01-17-2011 05:17 PM

wow and I toss out things that small. Luv it.

oksewglad 02-04-2011 11:10 PM

How lovely? My question--How much quilting do you do on your little ones?

Katrine 02-04-2011 11:33 PM

Wonderful miniature!
