Some of my quilts

This is my first large quilt from winter '14/'15. I saw a picture of it and sat down with graph paper and calculated the size, the cuts, and the proper assembly. I only had leftover and some stash of fabrics so I had no idea how it would turn out. Then had a dear lady with a long arm machine quilt it. The whole quilt is shown as my Avitar. I subsequently found a pattern online and bought it and made two more from same pattern. Hopefully I have pictures to post. Thanks for looking.

Nice piecing and quilting! Your avatar shows your handiwork off very well! Nice to be able to make something so beautiful out of scraps, eh?

Your color placement was excellent for making a scrappy quilt. Enjoy this beautiful quilt.

I find this to be a very interesting pattern and am imagining how many variations can be used with it. Love your quilt, looks both antique and contemporary.

Wow, Great first quilt. I also started quilting without a pattern, but quickly realized buying a pattern, finding them free online or at the library was so worth it. My first no- pattern quilt sent me running for more background fabric 3 or 4 times.

Beautiful serene quilt, were you not able to post the other pictures?

EmiliasNana 07-12-2016 05:05 AM

Would love to know the name of the pattern & where to buy it. I have lots of jelly rolls and strips of scraps that would work well with this design. Love it.

dinlauren 07-12-2016 05:39 AM

Pretty, pretty, pretty!! Terrific job on it and so is the quilting! Both of you did a great job!

It looks like a quilt I made years ago named Grandma Mary's Five Patch. I made it for my brother & he loved it. I intended to make more of these to use up some scraps, but never got around to it.
