Thank you all for your nice comments. The colors for the trip around the world bed quilts did not come out nicely on here, they are much brighter and vivid. I actually picked a color for our bedroom wall from the quilt. The deep dark purple with the light purple flowers. It is absolutely gorgeous, we've had it on our walls for about 6 years and I'm still not tired of it.

I do love trying lots of new things with quilting that is why I've taken lots of classes (not to mention it is guaranteed time to quilt).

I see I forgot to put up a picture of my table runner, so here it is.

The bear claw table runner I made to replace the first quilt I ever made. The colors were hideous, and went with nothing in the room. If I ever find the original table runner I will take a photo and post it here.

Cynde,
Your table runner is gorgeous. I love those colors. The tan color with the leaves is so bright and warm it reminds me of a warm burning candle.
:D Great Job! Can't wait to see more!

cynde 08-10-2007 10:57 AM

Thank you, I just fell in love with that fabric as soon as I saw it and I bought 5 metres, and it turned out to be a table cloth fabric, so it's very wide too. It had a border also, so when I made this. I cut from the middle of the fabric, and I'm saving the border (and the rest of the fabric) for for something else, not sure what yet, but I'll know it when I see it.

Denise 08-25-2007 11:30 AM

beautiful quilts and i just love your tablerunner. You do very beautiful work and i love your colors. Awesome work.

cynde 08-25-2007 12:43 PM

Hi Denise, thank you for the kind words. I dug out some of my older work, but realized I don't have my camera for a few days. I still cannot find my very first table runner, which was hideous. I must have really hidden it well.

Minda 08-25-2007 05:41 PM

Your work is beautiful. I especially like the calla lilies.

MaryL 08-26-2007 03:36 PM

cynde 08-27-2007 08:33 AM

Wow, thanks everyone for all the nice comments. It looks like the Calla Lily is a big hit. It is very striking and one of my favorites too. It was so easy to do as well.

amma 08-27-2007 09:44 AM

Oh Cynde, I feel as though I have just been to a quilt show, blue ribbons to them all!!! :D You are indeed a very talented fabric artist!!! I too, choose the Calla Lily as my favorite, but would happily display any/all of them in my home :-)

And here are a couple from a class I took on color a long time ago, taught by Jane Norquay. I did not have a large selection of fabric, so it was difficult, but I sure learned a lot.

lin 09-01-2007 05:47 AM

Those are beautiful cynde. And for not having a very large selection to choose from you sure did a great job of combining fabric! That red really pops, but the whole thing is so pleasing to the eye. Good work there cynde! :)

These are great. I am drawn to the bear quitl since I am finishing one now. Please describe the patterning for the bears and how you made them. Perhaps a close up shot of one or two of them would give me a better idea of the construction.

Here is a shot of mine.

Hi, sorry I didnt' respond to these sooner, I never got a notification that there were any new replies.

Here is the link to the freckles website for you grann616, that was the seasons quilt.

http://www.frecklescollection.com/

I'm not sure which one was the Friends quilt that you are referring to?

Granny B, your bear is so cute. Unfortunately I cannot get you a more detailed photo of the bears quilt right now. My SIL has it (since it's her quilt), I will e-mail and ask her for close ups.

Here are the close-up photos of the bears that you requested Eliis granny B.

I have more photos but it took so long to upload these one's, I didn't want to put too many here. But let me know if you would like to see them.

Cynde:
Your bears are darling! It looks like you really have the quilting and the blanket stitch down pat. Both look great. Good job.

grann616 10-19-2007 08:50 AM

Thanks for the web site. Freckles has a lot of neat things to do.!!

cynde 10-19-2007 10:48 AM

Your welcome grann. I hope if you try one of their patterns you will post pictures too.

Feathers, thanks for the comments, I took the class to pracctice different applique techniques. I only did one blanket stitch by hand, the other was done on my machine. I don't think I posted the one I did by hand. Machine is way faster, but looks too perfect, I prefer the look of blanket stitch done by hand, but if your in a hurry (and aren't we all) nothing beats the machine.

Shadow Dancer 10-19-2007 03:25 PM

Well you asked for it then, I do have 3 more pictures, there were nine all together but I think my SIL got tired of trying to send them with my inbox exceeding its limit.

And the bear on the previous page in the dress, with the black blanket stitch is the one that I did by hand.
