My Mom's embroidery & I did border. Have 3 more to make for my brothers for Christmas 2013.
This bag I made for my son for Christmas. Used a lot of material from his Dad's shirts. These potholders are for my daughter for 2013. So funny: she used to get on my case about using sooo much blue in my home but low-and-behold if she isn't using aqua in her kitchen!! She said "it isn't blue, its aqua." I want to make her an apron using some material from her Dad's shirts too + one with lots of blue. |

Nice work. Do you know what pattern your Mom used for the embroidered piece? I love her color choices and how you bordered it.

nicely done

It's a pattern I found. All that's she's done in past 2 yrs, I've done the transferring for her. Her work isn't as neat as it once was. She'll be 88 in April. I reminded her to do the berries in red but she forgot & did them in purple. Anyway, they are a treasure to be left! I have a lot of little squares she's done that I hope to one-day use in quilts for my DGDs.
As to the border, just trying to reduce my stash/s..

I think it's great that your Mom is still doing handwork in her late eighties. My dear Motherinlaw was not able to at her age - and had loved it so much previously. You are a kind and thoughtful daughter. Hope I have someone to help me out in my elder years, too.
