Beautiful work. I have lots of strip I bought years ago from a mill in Lowell Ma which are great for string quilts.
Do you stitch onto fabric or paper?

since everyone likes the fish quilts, here are the variants I made on fish, also another one I call Glowing Squares.
These are pieced on cheapo muslin, I cut squares the size I want. Start with a strip place diagonally, then sew another piece to one side, flip and repeat. Then the same on the other side. This is all on the machine of course. I stitch an L around the corners with the tiny pieces to hold them flat. This is how I did the basic block, like in the stars.

fish appliqued on, scales are hand embroidered

Gives you a WHOLE NEW perspective on keeping scraps, doesn't it???? :) :)

oksewglad 12-03-2010 02:40 PM

I can't beleive I missed these! They are just awesome. Now I know what I'm doing after the holidays!! Your placement of colors as well as light and dark are spot on.

ptquilts, you can put this in the Miniature Virtual section by clicking on the "Add to Virtual section" in the lower corner of your posting. Only you (the author of the post) or Rhonda can do this. It's a great place for us crazy tiny quilt people to see them in one section of the board.

Oh and thanks for sharing with us!
