They look great. I have to ask, though - just exactly what is an "I Spy" quilt? I had never heard the term before joining the QB.

Good work! That D9P with the horse heads is great!

I Spy Quilts are made of blocks fussy cut from novelty fabrics. The child make a game of finding and identifying the various objects--for example, "I spy a frog".
I did not use Ami Sims book, but she has one that has suggestions for various games.
The blocks can be entertaining as well as educational.
The pattern can be be any shape the quilter desires. squares, snowballs, hexagons, or irregular.

Thanks to all of you for your kind replies. It is great to have one quilt done, but I will do a happy dance when I the other two quilted and bound.

Thanks for clearing up the "I Spy" question. I was starting to think it might be something along that line but wasn't sure. I'm making a puzzle quilt from novelty fabrics right now that would "almost" qualify. :)

Here is what I have so far. I started this the other day after reading some posts on using fat quarters. I am temporarily exiled from my sewing room so I gathered what I could reach and started cutting on my kitchen island and have now moved the project to the dining room table. Due to a lot of circumstances (Irene is one of them) I have a feeling I won't be getting back into my sewing room for a lot of days yet. :?
I'm not sure I like this quilt top - it's awfully busy - but I think it will be great for a kid in the hospital. it will go to Quilts For Kids.

Pat,
Some kid will love and get hours of enjoyment out of your quilt.
Our guild asks us to make at least one kids quilt for a kids cancer camp each year. The puzzle would be a perfect pattern.

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping. I'll post it when it is finished.
