So my niece had a birthday request - she needed a blanket for camp - had to have her name on it - nothing bulky like fleece, she loves peace signs, zebra print and pink poofy stuff. So, not what we usually do for quilting but I made her this. I'm giving it to her this weekend and I think she's going to love it!
used my embroidery machine to make applique letters, added some hearts (actually the hearts were put there because I burned the fabric a bit with my iron! !) So to fill it out I added some rhinestones |

Looks perfect! I love the edging, thats so different!

My GD would love that too. They seem to be into the peace signs. She is 13. I made her sleep pants with very bright peace signs on a black background and a fleece snugglie with signs and flowers. Loved them both. I'm sure your GD will too.

I can't believe how much the peace sign is gaining popularity again! My 9 yr old loves it and wants just stuff with that symbol!! Funny how every 'old' is new again!
Great job on the blanket! She will certainly not have to worry about mixing it up with someone else!! |
Yeah, make those embellishemnets work for you! I thought they were stragically placed until I read all of your post!! Too funny. I hope your niece loves it, I know I would have!

Especially love the fuzzy binding. Great work. Sometimes the best ideas come from mistakes - like the hearts. Good addition.

That is so cute. What an unusual thought...to use the fluffy fabric for the border. I like that. Made with pretty and bright colors. I bet she is going to love it and everyone will want one just like it. Great job and thanks for sharing.
