Son #2’s color quilt finally done
1 Attachment(s)
I finally finished my sons color wheel quilt. He helped design it when he was younger. He has his first apartment now so I figured it would be a nice housewarming gift. He loves it and that’s what counts.
Per his request to make the colors flow the best they could we ended up with 32 colors, 32 spokes and 32 rings. It was more time consuming to lay it out and keep the colors straight then it was to paper piece it. Measures 89”. I ran into a few design issues when making it and got them figured out as I went but I don’t have a pattern available. I have had some asked but until I have time to work out the kinks, it’s a no go. I have since learned that it’s much like a round bargello but have never researched the particulars on how to make one. Might have been easier had I done so but no the less I had fun making this with my son despite the minor challenges. Thanks for taking a look. I hope you have enjoyed looking at what can come out of the mind of a 12 year old. |
Amazing quilt! Great job by you & your son. I have never seen anything like this.
