You have done a super job!

buddy'smom 07-17-2012 10:37 AM

Thank you, working on the flying geese but will have to use repeats for sure. Need to make 64 of them, but I'm doing won with black, one with white and print in middle.

maxnme01 07-17-2012 12:29 PM

How fun is that? Great idea and the flying geese will really enhance to overall look. DO NOT forget to post finished pictures.

I would never have thought about using black and white but it is absolutely gorgeous.

Very stately, it is so crisp and refreshing! The illustrations, block patterns and text are so well-balanced.

I ordered the pattern, and it came in the mail yesterday. I've been pulling black/whites from my stash. I am amazed at how many I have....but, of course, there "will have to be additions" to the stack....lol...This will be my project when we go to FL for the winter, for sure. Did anyone stitch theirs through 2 layers of white? Did you just use plain cotton? Looking for any tips I can glean! Really like this one.

buddy'smom 07-24-2012 07:53 AM

I use Kona cotton, I find stitching through two layers a bit tuff with my hands so I just used one. I'm gonna use repeats with my b/w as I have lots of different ones but still not enought so I will have repeats in the borders. Good luck with your quilt and would love to see pictures.

Very beautiful!!! Your son had a great idea.

buddy'smom 08-06-2012 08:43 AM

Thank you, I have one more border of flying geese to do and see if he'd like one extra border.

Jammin' Jane 10-12-2012 10:40 AM

I've got that pattern!
You're turned out gorgeous in black!
I've seen it done in red. I want to do mine in blue! :)

quilter2theend 10-12-2012 01:03 PM

I have this pattern. How long did it take you to cut out and piece? How long did the embroidery take? With working part-time there never seem to be enough hours in the day. I am finishing up my 3rd christmas tree skirt and still have a door hanging and table runner and placemats to finish before Christmas.

carolaug 10-12-2012 01:21 PM

Wow!!! You did a wonderful job! I am sure he is going to love it!

Country1 10-12-2012 02:22 PM

Love it! Did you draw it all, or was it remade? Please, tell us DH and I have different opinions on that. Thanks!

buddy'smom 10-12-2012 03:12 PM

It really didn't take to long, I worked on it with several other's . I made 5-embroidered quilts in a year along with my other quilting. I'm now working on 5 more as well. Thank you.
