I just inherited my grandmother's wonderful log cabin quilt. It's the reason I came to love log cabins and quilting in general.

The date of creation is between the 30's and 40's. My Daddy told me there were pieces of her children's clothes in it and floursacks too. Of her 14 living children, there are only 2 left. I feel honored to have it in my possession!

It is beautiful. I love all the soft colors and the affect it has on her setting so you see the alternate light and slightly darker squares on point but really have to look for them because it is so subdued. I can see why this quilt gave you your love of quilting and LC quilts specifically.

What a treasure! I love the stories that come with quilts. My mom made a scrap quilt when I still lived at home. I loves looking at each square and trying to figure out what clothing item had been made from the fabric.
