Southern Sun Bonnet Sue for DIL2
 

Not usually my style and I didn't think I would enjoy doing it, but finding I quite like it and enjoying the process... I wanted to do a classical southern belle but DIL2 said that wasn't what she wanted. So ya do what the recipient wants.

It will be king size so I have LOTS more blocks to make.

It is adorable ! It will be beautiful when done!

Boy she has a thin waist!! Reminds me the Dr told me today, weight needs to come off once you get over this cough/sinus infection and etc. Its coming out really neat, are you going to put sashing inbetween the squares?

Your blocks are Great! I have seen this pattern or one similiar and knew it was on my to do list....just have not gotten to it. Hope to soon. Have a fantastic time creating more blocks and making a fabulous quilt. Looking forward to seeing the completed project.

Thanks for all the nice comments... I did get to go thru my stash and pick out lots of color combinations. Some of left-overs for many years so glad to find a use for them now.

Someone asked how I was finishing the applique so adding a closer photo. Using machine to zig zag around the pieces.

This "Yankee" likes this & I am not a big fan of SBS.
