spicy spiral

This is my first Spicy Spiral, I can take it off my bucket list now! This was made for my niece who is getting married in June. I hope she likes it. The quilting was the serpentine stitch, so as not to overpower the design. There is a bit of a learning curve, and I learned what not to do next time. Enjoy.

Very nice! I've made 3 of this pattern and really enjoyed it...... after I just followed it step by step instead of trying to read ahead.

I just bought this pattern at the quilt guild book sale. Can't wait to try it. I have liked since I first saw one on this board.

This is the first time I've seen this pattern. Love the spicy colours you used. Now I have to add this to my bucket list - which is already overflowing...

DOTTYMO 05-11-2016 11:06 PM

Nicely done. This pattern is on my 'to do' list.

Sewbeeit2 05-12-2016 03:02 AM

Wow.Great Challenge!

quilterpurpledog 05-12-2016 03:16 AM

I really like your color choices because of their nice contrast in the pattern. I have done one of these table runners and plan to do others. I thought the pattern went together nicely. The simple quilting is a nice complement.

ManiacQuilter2 05-12-2016 08:04 AM

Nicely done. Your selection of fabric was excellent.

Annz 05-12-2016 08:21 AM

Love the fabrics

RedGarnet222 05-12-2016 08:56 AM

How pretty! This is so perfect for fall. I made one and posted it here done in red white and blue. I donated it to the diabetes auction and it did Very well for the kids. I bought another book by these ladies and plan on trying more when I get the time.

Kttyhwk4 05-12-2016 09:19 AM

Very Nice.

Irishrose2 05-12-2016 09:54 AM

Very pretty. I've made 6 and have another ready because I think they make great gifts. What not to do? Find a pieced strip behind the machine after you are finished. One has a larger jog than anticipated, but luckily, it isn't noticeable.

cowgirlquilter 05-12-2016 11:08 AM

Spicy and spectacular!!!!!!

joyce888 05-12-2016 11:17 AM

Great job!

QuiltnLady1 05-12-2016 08:00 PM

Great fall colors. I have done one of these and have a second that has the wedges cut out and is waiting for me to do the final piecing. They are a bit of a challenge but the result is wonderful.

BrendaK 05-12-2016 08:04 PM

The front picture is opposite of the instructions and picture within the pattern. I found it easier to simple do one curve at a time when sewing the strip together. Also watch your right sides of material, I got 5 in backwards (they were that close in color, but noticeable when finished)and had to go back and rip and reverse and re-sew those pieces. It all worked out and was pleased with the results never the less. I should of known better...grr!

Jingle 05-13-2016 12:53 PM

Very pretty.

gramquilter2 05-13-2016 02:20 PM
