Keep up the good work. I really like all of them, but the bee really stands out for me.

I changed this one quite a bit! Its #51 Bee Happy. The original calls for piecing the background and the bee. I decided to leave the background as one piece and applique the little stinker (oops, stinger) onto it. Bees have 3 sections to their bodies - can't name them - but he looked headless to me so I added one! Hence gonna have trouble fitting the block! The flower was made of hexagons and I've done some tiny ones already on this quilt so decided to fussy cut a flower.
And that's another example of the fun of doing a sampler like this! Thanks for looking!

Yes, I'm finding that I do all of them now using paper piecing. I love the freezer paper method of sewing next to a fold.

I am enjoying your block posts because I love how you choose your fabric for each individual splendid block. Keep up the good work.

I like the bee.

QUOTE The poor bee will loose his stinger when he has his 1/4" seam allowance ... well, allowed. QUOTE

Why don't you open the last 3 or 4 stitches on each side of the stinger, fold it back and sew the seam, then put the stinger back down and applique it in place. I love it when one block extends over the sashing or the next block.
Hope this works for you. Love your bee.
