Spring Tulip Wall Hanging |
Oh lovely. Tulips and purple. Both a favorite!
Beautiful -- purple tulips!! :-) :-)
Thats really cute Ruth, I would try and match the threads to each section, or use the clear monofilament thread would be easier :D
Ruth..I went back for a 2nd look, I think a dark purple would define each petal better :D

They have metalic in some colors, how would a metalic purple look... |
Ruth..This is a great design and you should stand proud you did this out of the box!! You thought this thru on your own-awesome!! I vote for variegated threads! They are such fun and you can alternate the different colors for different areas you want. Go check them out..! This is such a cute and fun quilt, I'd say keep going on your creativity...unless I'm too late:)Skeat

I like your idea of metallic purple. Lovely colors!
Oh how pretty! Perfect for spring! You did a very nice drawing this pattern out ruth! Do you have an embrodery machine pattern with a bumble bee on it? Or butterfly?
I like the idea of the metalic thread too. The fabric is perfect for those flowers. Can you tell I like your wall hanging? |
I love how variegated threads look, especially on flowers as it seems to give them more definition. And your purple is already a little mottled so would look wonderful with it...IMHO
Beautiful RUTH

Another vote for varigated. Otherwise, I'd try to match the color or go a tad darker. They are great - Are the crocuses sprouting yet?
Oh so pretty. I love tulips and yours are wonderful. What an artist you are.
Very pretty Ruth! Springy!!
What cugte tulips! Nice job!
very Spring like....I would go with a purple if you want it to blend or a light lavender.....very pretty....:-)
Great job. Just love it.
love them :D
Great job Ruth!
I would think that a purple just a bit darker. I have used varigated and it was ok, to me, but I didn't really like it. Maybe make a test flower and try on that to see which you like best. |

Lots of good ideas for thread. I'll look and see what I have and check joanns. I have fabric left and will try that before the tulips
because of the print, I would go with darker purple. i love variegated on some things. think it would get lost or blend too much here, and metallic can be beautiful, but these flowers are so pretty right now, just need a little bit of edge enhancing - to me. :D
Ruth-that is just beautiful--you are very talented.
thank you for the praise. I got a dark purple for the flowers and for the green a varigated.
These small projects are practice for an applique quilt. I am having good luck with the heat and bond |
Beautiful Ruth :)
