Shemjo 04-01-2009 05:39 PM

WOW, WOW, WOW! That is one stunning quilt! I love paper piecing. My avatar is a paper pieced St. Paul pattern that grew into a queen sized raffle quilt for my church group. I have done some others as well, but my camera and computer are having a feud now, so I can't post any pictures right now! :( I am using an old computer right now, and am lucky I can do mail!

JoanneS 04-01-2009 10:39 PM

Let me add my welcome! I hope you'll stay and get to know us. Your St. Basil's is awesome. I love paper piecing, too, and I have designed a few of my own. It is the best way to get accurate points and to handle bias edges. I haven't tackled anything as complicated as St. Basil's, though!

key4unc 04-02-2009 01:39 AM

WOW! That is gorgeous :!: How long did it take to complete that.

Drema2 04-02-2009 10:10 AM

WOW!!! Now that is some nice EYE Candy!!!!!
Welcome to the boards.

Thanks. Yes, and with paper piecing you can make very thin and fine details. On my web-site, you can have some free patterns. Please, show some of your designs :)

What a truly inspiring piece of art you have created!!! Beautiful!!!

jette 04-23-2009 01:04 AM

Thanks to all of you.
Some times I think, that I live a wrong place.
Some days ago my "St Basil" came back from Norway, where it has been in a competition in the Norwegian quilt Assosiation
That was no fun.
Everything was wrong:
Bad colour, bad composed, quilting not to talk about, teknique bad, aesthetic also bad. All over bad.
The judgement was not even signed, and it was written on a blank dokument.
I´m happy for all your positive comments, so it was not "that down". Now I say with Bob Dylan:
"Some people can be wrong sometimes - I think Abraham Lincoln said that - But all people can´t be wrong all the time - I said that".
:D :D :D

Jette, I don't understand this. Your quilt is fabulous! And I adore the colors. I really admire you for being able to make a picture into a paper piecing pattern.

I also love your birds on your website. You are obviously AWESOME!

Mousie 04-28-2009 07:32 PM
